Mac Satin Eyeshadow "Club" Review/Swatches

I'm posting one of my favorite eyeshadows today-Mac Club! Mac Club eyeshadow is a duochrome eyeshadow, which means it's iridescent.

As you can see, when you look at the eyeshadow straight on, then it'll look like a normal metallic eyeshadow. HOWEVER, when you actually swatch it...

ta-dah! you'll be able to see two different colours from a single shadow!

Its base colour is chocolate brown, which is good for pretty much every occasion. What makes it special is the green sheen you get when you angle it!

See the minty-green sheen?

and here's a GIF, so you can have better idea what 'duo chrome eyeshadow' is!

Pros:
-unique in the market
-highly pigmented
-long staying power

Cons:
-NONE. I love it

I recommend this to people who love collecting makeup (me) because this  bad boy could be a jewel among your collection. Also, if you're a smokey makeup lover, this one will be a 'one-touch' smokey maker. You don't need to use anything else. All you have to do is just loading the eyeshadow as much as you want until you get the intensity you want!

EOTD: Easy-Breezy One Eyeshadow Makeup

EOTD: Emerald

Well, green is not my favorite colour to put on my eyelids, but I applied it just to match my eye makeup with my new purple lipstick (Mac Pure Heroine). I really like the final look, but, I'll be honest, it looked kinda awkward on my skin tone. So sad I can't pull off green...

EOTD: Easy-Breezy One Eyeshadow Makeup

Wearing a duochrome shadow gives you an effect of using two different colours of eyeshadows! I used a Mac club eyeshadow-chocolate brown with a green sheen. Don't need to blend anything! Only few swipes on your eyelids, then you're done! :)

TooFaced Chocolate Bar Review/Swatches

TooFaced Chocolate Bar

TooFaced has promoted this palette by saying the eyeshadows are made of cocoa powder. Well, it turns out it’s true! I can smell it! I can smell the cocoa powder whenever I open the palette. Mmmmmm. Oh, and the names.. Names of the eyeshadows. They make me hungry too. The names and colours of eyeshadows all refer to sweets all over the world. Ex. Strawberry bonbon, Marzipan, Milk Chocolate…

Gilded Ganache, Salted Caramel, hazelnut, white chocolate (flash)

Marzipan, Creme Brulee, Semi-Sweet, Haute Chocolate

Milk Chocolate, Strawberry Bon Bon, Cherry Cordial, Black Forest Truffle

Candied Violet, Triple Fudge, Amaretto,Champagne Truffle

Eyeshadows are very pigmented, but not amazing compared to other eyeshadows in Sephora. Especially these particular shades, Strawberry Bon Bon and Gilded Ganache areslightly unpleasant. Strawberry Bon Bon is too sheer that it doesn’t even show up on my skin, and Gilded Ganache is kinda chalky. You’ll get a minor fall out from this eyeshadow.

On the other side, I do have my favorite shade, which is Candied violet. It’s a lovely colour-you wouldn’t be able to find something like this in the market easily. It’s shimmery violet with reddish pink glitters! Unfortunately those glitters are not prominent in the picture :(.

Other than Gilded Ganache and Strawberry Bon Bon, I love every single eyeshadow in this palette. Most of them are browns, but I would like to say they’re very UNIQUE browns. They all have different undertones! For example, Cherry Cordial is a brown with a cherry red undertone and black forest truffle is with a dark purple undertone! Too Faced put two highlighting colours in bigger pans - White Chocolate and Champagne Truffle, and those will come in handy! Especially when one is matte and one is shimmery :). This would be another good option for makeup beginners since it contains so many neutral colours + few jewel tones.

I have to say the major downside of this palette is the case. I like the idea they designed it as a chocolate bar, but it’s TOO WEAK. I bought the renewed version, which is supposed to be slimmer and shinier.  Well, that’s fine, I actually like the ‘slimmer’ part, but WTH the case gets opened right at the moment I touch it as if I shout out Alohomora or something. It’s very annoying. I think I’m going to accidentally scratch out all the eyeshadows soon or later.. I don’t know if the same thing happens to the original palette. If it doesn’t, then I really should’ve bought that one :(

TheBalm NUDE'tude Review/Swatches

Okay, I’ve been calling this palette a ‘Nude’TUBE’ palette for some reason, and finally.. I learned its real name. It was Nude ‘Tude’ guys… Not Nude TUBE… If you search it on google, you’ll encounter some adult stuff.

AND WAAAAIT I think I found another secret about this palette… All the names of eyeshadows start with ‘S’..! Did somebody else know this? D:

Anyhow..SO, Nude’tude palette. It’s hands down one of my favorite palettes. It contains 16 eyeshadows, and the range of colours are just amazing. It contains white, yellow, few pinks and some browns, and that makes the palette perfect for every occasion. The difference of finishes really impress me as well. Some are shimmery, some are matte and some are glittery! If you’re a newbie to this makeup world and want to add something in your collection, then this might be one of your best options.

just look at the pigmentation!

Let’s talk about the quality of eyeshadows. I guess you guys can tell from my swatches-they’re insanely pigmented. I would describe them ‘creamy’ because they literally feel like creme shadows even though they’re not! They glide smoothly on eyelids and blend well. The only down side of them is that they might have some fall outs. This is actually based on other people’s reviews because I personally don’t find them flaky or chalky… But I do see why people say those things because the packaging gets really dirty from the fall outs. It’s a bit upsetting for me because the packaging is one of the reasons I love this palette. What’s worse, the case is made of cardboard so it’s impossible to wipe out all the nasties from the packaging… :(

Just wanted to show you guys the glitters of the eyeshadow, 'silly' urrgggg so pretty. Do you see all the copper/red glitters

Maybelline Color Elixir Review/Swatches

I think Maybelline has released Color Elixir last year, and I had seen a lot of ads and reviews about it here and there…, but those weren’t enough to capture my mind.
Why did I eventually end up buying these? Well…it’s cuz of one of my followers on Instagram. This young lady posted her lips wearing Signature Scarlet one day on her account, and I had to be like ‘OMG WHAT PRODUCT IS THIS. I NEED TO GET THIS IN MY LIFE’.

From left to right:
005 Breathtaking Apricot
015 Mandarin Rapture
020 Signature Scarlet
040 Vision in Violet

So here I am. Bought 3 more colours other than Signature Scarlet. I have to say the formula is not my favorite. I’m not much of a lip gloss person so the consistency or stickiness of the products wasn’t very pleasant to me. HOWEVER, look at the pigmentation and gloss! They grant me the power to bear with the stickiness!

breathtaking apricot

Mandarin Rapture
Unfortunately, Mandarin Rapture seems like it has a poor color pay off, which is very disappointing because Mandarin Rapture had been my favorite shade until I swatched it on my lips. It leaves a sheer finish. You can see it’s very patchy on my lips… And trust me, I put on multiple layers on my lips, wishing I can get better pigmentation.. :(

Signature Scarlet

Vision in Violet
Vision in Violet was def my bold choice, since I haven’t tried purple lips before… (Okay, I walked into MAC store once, and tried ‘Heroine’ on, but I didn’t buy it. Therefore, more precisely saying, Vision in Violet would be my first purple lipstick added to my makeup collection.) Guess what? I love it! It reminds me of Penelope garcia, and that makes me feel very good and cool. If you watch Criminal Minds, you’ll know what I mean ;)
